Community Support

Future Radio came into its own during the pandemic, helping people stay connected. It was great to meet the dedicated team, behind and in front of the microphones, who’ve successfully been awarded grant funding from the East of England Co-op.

It was also the beginning of the pandemic when the Co-op’s Community Cares Fund was established, to provide grants of £1,000 to £5,000, to initiatives that promote community cohesion and integration. The fund supports people who reduce barriers and inequalities, and improve social contact and experiences. Hundreds of thousands of pounds have been awarded of far, supporting more than 150 thousand people.

As part of the visit, East of England Co-op Non-Exec Director and Mediapro Media Trainer Maria Veronese (far left), was interviewed on air to explain how charities and voluntary groups can apply for the grants. Click here, if you missed it and would like to find out more. Good luck!
