Awards, Whales and Sales

The judges have finished their deliberations and one of our journalist trainer’s imaginative ideas for an Edith Cavell Special has been shortlisted for this year’s BBC Nations and Regions television awards.

The awards called ‘The Rubys’ will be presented by BBC Director General Tony Hall and hosted by Huw Edwards and Sophie Haworth at the BBC Radio Theatre in London next month.

The 100th anniversary special to mark the World War One nurse’s execution in Belgium, was filmed in Britain and Europe last year and has secured BBC Look East a place in the prestigious Programme of the Year finals. We wish Maria Veronese and the Look East team the very best of luck!
